No More School, LET'S TRY WRITING
How the Planning Process in My New Writing Project Looks Right Now

This past semester, I started working on a 15-20 minute script project. I juggled around a few plot ideas with the short time I had. I finally decided that I'm gonna be working on this script outside of my degree and so some work needs to be done right?
I'm starting this to keep myself accountable to my writing goals. I love writing, I love all aspects of it and I think this time in my life I really want to work on having more than one officially completed manuscript.
I'll be sharing all the resources I've found online here so that you too can work with me for your writing process as well.
I have no problem sharing what I'm working on, that way I know I have somewhere to not only talk about it but keep myself accountable to really work on fleshing out the different concepts, plots and characters in the most productive way possible.
I've been working at trying to convert all my work so far in a digital format or workflow that works best for me and as of right now, here are the various platforms I'm using.
OneNote

I'm using this primarily for planning my characters. The detailed outlines and templates that I've found, I'm mostly dissecting that on OneNote. I'm also using it as my digital copy for my notebook. I have a physical notebook and I scan the pages on my phone and upload them on OneNote so I have access to it even on the go.
Prewrite

If I want to visually see how my scenes look, my characters (actors who I think could play the role) and summaries of the scenes, I use Prewrite. The free version is limited and that's of course what I use but it gets the job done.
Notion

Everybody who knows me, knows that I love Notion like I birthed it, okay? Where I am right now, I mostly use Notion for preparing for my next steps. Since I'm mostly working on the character development, I'm using templates and workflows on Notion for the chapter by chapter process, drafting in general, revision when that time comes and also for future projects (if this project turns into a series).
Tumblr

I believe I'm always learning and something I always check for is learning different ways I can convey the same message with dialogue. I'm trying to work on my dialogues because I think that's a strength for me but it can be improved. So I looks for the things other writers post on Tumblr, try those methods and what works, I use, if it doesn’t I take it as a lesson learnt.

I also use Pinterest to help me find pictures for different scenarios that can help me with descriptions. As a reader, I'm not always the most excited in reading some authors descriptions so I'm trying to find a way to write descriptions in a way that I know as a reader I'd enjoy or how to best use that distaste for my writing (PS, I may change my mind in a few months on my perspective with descriptions, don't judge me, but this is where I am right now).
What do you use to help you in the planning process of your writing?
I can't wait to share what else I learn during this process.
